School Management Restates Commitment To Sports Dev
The Management of
Stalets Academy Port Harcourt has pledged its commitment towards sports development in the school.
Proprietress of the college, Mrs Susan Ezenwaka said this at the maiden edition of the school interhouse sports competition last weekend in Port Harcourt Mrs. Ezenwaka said that the management is determined to ensure that pupils and students of the college are given the opportunity to develop their sporting talents.
She described the standard of the competition as high adding that” the kids are doing well it goes to show that there is abundant talent in the school.
The proprietress also said that the school has done well in academics as last year West African examination council (WAEC) results shows hundred percent success by the school.
“The school is excellent in academics. No exam malpractices.
“The kids are focus academically” she said.
In his welcome address the principal of the college, Pastor Daniel Lekettey said that, sports has been given emphases as one of the three domains recognize by the educational curriculum.
Mr. Lekettey said that the goal is to develop excellent individuals who are able to master their culture and environment.
“Our emphases at starlets academy is to meet the demands of these three domain.
“Building up students intellect is a basic aspiration of every school but this is not enough to meet the wide scope of education.
“We have the reform designed a total pregramme that would form character, develop physical aptitude and nurture the intellect”, he said.
At the end of the competition, Blut House came first while Yellow and Green Houses came Second and third respective.
