NOA Trains 25 Officers For Election In Delta
The National
Orientation Agency (NOA), has trained 25 Chief Orientation and Mobilization Officers (COMOs) on election processes in Delta.
Director of NOA in the State, Mr Isaac Ezechi, stated this at a Sensitisation Workshop on Election Processes for the officers.
Ezechi said that as the election inched nearer, it was necessary that NOA carried out aggressive voter education at the grass roots.
He explained that the training was to also justify the existence of NOA structures in the 774 local government areas of the country.
He said that NOA structures must be justified in the 25 local government areas of Delta state by being diligent on this assignment.
Ezechi added that the first stage of the workshop was the training of the 25 COMOs.
He said the trainees were expected to embark on voter education in various communities in Delta since the Director General had mobilised resources for the COMOs to excel.
INEC’s Administrative Secretary in Delta, Mr Owoh Nathan, said INEC was ready and required the cooperation of Nigerians for successful elections.
He assured that the elections would be free, fair and credible, adding that jingles and television programmes to enlighten the masses on election processes were being broadcast.
He solicited the partnership of all agencies and stakeholders in the electoral processes to achieve desired result.
Nathan also called for cooperation of the media to enlighten the public on the forthcoming elections.
