2015 Polls: ‘Those Predicting Nigeria Division Are Prophets Of Doom’
A clergyman, Pastor Fred
Okpara says those predicting disintegration of Nigeria and violence during or after the 2015 general elections are prophets of doom who do not mean well for the country.
Okpara, a senior pastor of the Greater Evangelism World Crusade, Diobu, Port Harcourt (Ihioma branch) made the assertion at a thanksgiving church service to mark the end of 2014.
According to him, such predictions do not please God because as he puts it, “No matter the difficulties you pass through, you should glorify God and count your blessings.
He pointed out that despite the austerity measures declared by the Federal Government, Nigeria would remain as one with an improved economy 2015 saying that rather than making derogatory predictions, Christians should commit the elections to God and pray for the nation. The reverend gentleman who spoke on the theme “The Benefits of God”, taken from Psalms 103 enjoined Nigerians to stop complaining at all times and allow God to visit their lives in the new year.
He stressed the need for them to do the will of God, pointing out that “God is looking for an opportunity to come closer to us for salvation”.
“We should not forget God’s benefits. People should repent and confess so God will forgive all their iniquities, heal their sicknesses and diseases”, he noted.
The man of God, therefore, urged Nigerians not to be afraid of the 2015 elections which he said would be peaceful, free and fair at all levels, adding that they should thank God for His kindness and protection.
