The Governorship
Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Rev. Minaibim Harry has called on Rivers people to shun money politics and look out for credible candidate that will ensure a bright future for them.
He made the call recently in Port Harcourt after emerging as the governorship candidate of the party.
Rev. Harry said insecurity, unemployment, housing, economic empowerment, health-care delivery and sports would be his major priorities if elected governor.
According to him, as a sports man “I will bring all sports men and women in the state together and empower them”.
He assured that he would address the issue of unemployment by initiating economic empowerment programmes that would create job opportunities for the people.
He said that he chose to run on the platform of SDP to revive the party, adding that many people were unhappy with the two main political parties in the state, PDP and APC.
On his part, the Chairman of Social Democratic Party in the state, Engr. Worlu Joshua said the decision to resuscitate the party was informed by the vision of the party to win the governorship position of the state, given its pedigree as the first political party in the country.
