Rebisi Monarch Warns Youth Against Violence
Against the backdrop of
the activities leading to the 2015 general elections, the pParamount ruler of Port Harcourt and the traditional head of the Rebisi Kingdom, Eze Victor Woluchem has advised youths of the area to resist the temptation of being used as politician’s miscreants.
Eze Woluchem who is the Eze Apara Rebisi gave the advice in a chat with newsmen at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, shortly before departing for Abuja.
The traditional ruler who commended the Rebisi youths for their peaceful disposition in spite of certain provocative acts, urged them to continue to maintain the peace in the Kingdom.
He explained that the people of his Kingdom had been sensitised to be law-abiding and support the programmes of any government in power, and urged them to participate in the continuous voters registration exercise that would start today.
Eze Woluchem who is the new ruler of the Rebisi Kingdom said he had some initial challenges on assumption of office but such hiccups had been taken care of.
“I started as a little child, learning to do things, I have passed the stage of walking and very soon I should be at the running stage and such are the states of life”, he stated.
He thanked the council members, youths and the people of Rebisi Kingdom for the respect accorded to the traditional institution, noting that “development can only come in an atmosphere devoid of violence as dialogue remains the best option in handling issues”.
