The president of ANAN, Alhaji Sakirudeen Labode, stated this while addressing newsmen in Lagos, on Friday, after the formal inauguration of Professional Women Accountants (PROWAN).
Labode urged female accountants to take a lead role in educating their fellow women about the benefits and challenges of the cashless policy initiative in Nigeria.
He said members of the newly formed association are in position of trust to always uphold the ethics of the profession, advising them to shun all forms of harassment and intimidations in the discharge of their duties .
The ANANs’ President said that there is no doubt that Nigeria’s female population is a powerful hidden engine for economic growth of the country, stressing that as professional women, they should ensure that enlightenment campaigns on the cashless policy are taken to the grassroots for minimum understanding and effect.
He urged them as female accountants to play a key role to tackle corruption and engender transparency and accountability.
