Commissioner Tasks CTC Chairmen On Training Centres

Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Samuel Eyiba, has charged the 23 Caretaker Chairmen in the state to maintain the vocation training centres built by the state government in their areas.
This was made known when the caretaker chairmen met with the commissioner at the state secretariat, in Port Harcourt Monday.
Eyiba said, the vocation training centres were built by the state government to empower the people at the grassroots level, stressing the need for the chairmen to upgrade the centers.
He also said that, the training has been designed to benefit the less previllaged ons in the society, adding that through the medium, employment would also be generated for the people.
Speaking onbehalf of the chairmen during the meeting, Sir Hon Nbakpone Friday Okpe, assured the on Commissioner and the state government that the training would begin with immediate effect and commended the state governor Rt Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for his initiative and concern over the people’s welfare .
He also stressed that the councils will not only train the personnel, but will also support them at the completion of their training by providing them with a starter packs.
He enjoined all the chairmen at the 23 Local Government to cooperate with the government in order to achieve this aim for the betterment of the society at the local level.
