The Senator representating
Rivers East Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Chief George Thompson Sekibo, has lauded the Deputy Group News Editor of The Tide Newspaper, Dr. Alpheaus Paul-Worika, for his faithfulness and dedication in the discharge of his responsibilities.
Speaking last Sunday at the Golden Birthday celebration of Dr. Paul-Worika at St. Mark’s Anglican Church in Borikiri, Port Harcourt, Sekibo said “Paul-Worika has worked closely with me and has shown so much dedication and faithfulness to duties that I even learn from him.”
The lawmaker who described himself as a meticulous person who likes to get details of whatever he was doing, urged the celebrant to maintain his sincerity and purposefulness in any work given to him.
He disclosed that some time ago, the celebrant listed some of the major things he wished to achieve before his 50th birthday, one of which was to obtain a Ph.D degree and expressed joy that Paul-Worika had actualised his dream and challenged him on the task of writing a book as promised.
Sekibo donated one 18-seater bus and the sum of N1.5 million to the Church in honour of Dr. Paul-Worika and pledged to support the ongoing work in the Church.
The Vicar of the Church, Ven Boma Briggs commended the lawmaker for his gesture and prayed God to replenish his purse.
Briggs who took his text message from John 4:1-26 said that the water that Jesus gives is for eternal life which the world cannot offer and admonished youths not to allow themselves to be used by selfish and ambitious politicians who only make their phone lines available when they want their support and become inaccessible afterwards.
