Stakeholder Lauds Firm Over Marine Waste Clearance
A Maritime Stakeholder
in Port Harcourt, Austin Ileya, has lauded a firm, the African Circle Pollution Management Limited for clearing marine waste for easy movement of vessels in the Nigerian’s territorial waters.
Ileya, who is the Public Affairs Manager, Delta Shipping Company gave the commendation while interacting with The Tide in Port Harcourt on Monday.
He noted that since the organisation was engaged for about 10 years ago, that there had been unhindered sail of vessels on the nation’s territorial waters.
The public affairs manager recalled that sailors had complained of too much waste which sometimes caused damage to the engine room of vessels, before the firm was engaged
Ileya also urged the Nigerian Ports Authority to continue to provide efficient sailing for ships and boats on the naton’s waters.
He also commended the African Circle Pollution Management for its achievement, especially in ensuring that its office is established in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State Capital, as well as in Warrri and Calabar.
The Maritime stakeholder also urged the firm to continue with its good works in collecting wastes from ships and water regularly and recycle them.
“This firm had on regular basis been collecting the wastes, checked and cleared the water so that the ships can sail again whenever the vessels berth”, he stated.
