Kickboxing Association Plans Clinic In PH

sociation (WKA), says it has concluded arrangements to organise a two-day intensive seminar on ‘Modern Techniques and Rules in Kickboxing” from 27th to28th of August 2014 at the Alfred Diette Spiff Sports Complex, in Port Harcourt.
The representative of the association in Nigeria, Sensei Victor Bassey, said that the programme would be officiated by an International Class Referee, and World Kickboxing Champion, Nizar Sheik Taleb.
According to him, the seminar is expected to be delivered to the kickboxing athletes and officials before the main championship tagged “Niger Delta King of the Ring 2014,” scheduled to hold from 28th to 31st August this year.
He further said that no fewer than 15 states are expected to participate in the competition including the Nigeria Army, Air force, Nigeria Navy, Police teams, clubs and two countries invited.
Sensei Bassey, stated that the official uniform for officials taking part in the event is white short sleeves, black bow tie on a black trousers, saying that, kickboxers would provide their personal tooth guard, chin guard and bondage.
He also insisted that kick-boxers taking part in the event must undergo the association’s medical test adding that no fighter card no competition, while advising clubs and state associations to comply with these conditions, adding that, clubs/state associations should come along with their flags which would be hoisted at competition arena.
Meanwhile, weight categories to be competed for, include light weight – 60kg, light middle – 71kg, middle weight -75kg and cruiser weight + 86kg for men and other discipline, while middle weight – 60kg, light heavy – 65kg and heavy weight + 65kg is for women respectively.
