Educationist Hails The Tide’s Commitment To Professionalism
The Head Teacher of
Greenhill International School, Mr. Mark Sokwaibe, has commended the management of the Rivers state Newspaper Corporation, publishers of The Tide Group of newspapers over its commitment to professional excellence as a leading state owned Newspaper in Nigeria.
Sokwaibe made the commendation while leading pupils of the school on an excursion visit to The Tide recently.
He pointed out that The Tide had demonstrated uncommon commitment to its statutory role of information dissemination and urged the management of the corporation not to rest on its oars.
He said the excursion was to ensure that the pupils were acquainted with modern trends to meet up the demands of the 21st century, especially in knowledge acquisition.
The head teacher emphasised the need for every child to acquire qaualitative education, and stated that the school was committed to promoting excellence and total grooming of every child in academic pursuits.
He called for the review of the school curriculum to address critical challenges in Nigeria’s education development.
In his remark, the Deputy Group News Editor of The Tide, Dr. Alpheus Paul Worika who conducted the pupils round during the excursion visit, said The Tide was one of the oldest state owned newspapers in the country, and has lived up to its institutional mandate over the decades.
He said The Tide was committed to performing its professional duties as a media outfit, and to set agenda for development in the society.
