Chamber of Commerce,Industries Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) has concluded arrangement to launch what she called Graduate Work Experience Placement Scheme (GWEPS) in Rivers State.
According to a release from PHCCIMA and made available to The Tide, the scheme, would be launched in collaboration with Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA).
The President of PHCCIMA, Engr. Emeka Unachukwu said that the programme was part of the Chamber’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) which would help the businesses of her members. Engr. Unachukwu said that the scheme when launched would provide opportunities for PHCCIMA member companies to engage the service of at least one graduate at an allowance of N20,000 monthly, adding that RSSDA would pay the rest of the bills.
“The scheme is a rewarding one which affords member companies the opportunity to hire the services of a graduate with a meagre salary of N20,000,” he said. The President said that PHCCIMA and RSSDA had been working closely in various people-oriented projects through partnerships, adding that GWEPS would further cement the collaboration, as RSSDA had been formally inducted as a member of PHCCIMA.
