Edo APC Pledges Free, Fair Congresses
Edo Chapter of the All
Progressives Congress (APC) has pledged to conduct free and fair congresses slated to hold from April 5 to 23 this year.
The party’s state Publicity Secretary, Mr Godwin Erhahon, disclosed this to newsmen in an interview in Benin.
Erhanon said the party would handle the congresses with the maturity with which it conducted the registration of its members in February, during which 313, 000 people in the state obtained APC membership card.
He said the party was very satisfied with the figure, adding that the exercise was fraud-free.
Erhahon said 150, 000 members were registered in Edo South senatorial district, while 108, 000 and 55, 000 members were registered in Edo North and Central respectively.
“Materials that were not used and those in which mistakes were made by intending members were all returned.
“We are very much satisfied with the conduct of our party faithful and we hope same will be replicated during the state congresses.”
He said the party would hold ward congresses on April 5, and that of local government and the state on April 12 and 23 respectively.
