NSCDC Arrests 86 Suspected Oil Thieves In Delta
The Nigeria Security
and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Delta yesterday said it arrested 86 people with illegal petroleum products in 2013.
The command’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr Felix Egede, said in Asaba that it confiscated102, 850 litres of petroleum products from the suspects.
Egede, who said the products were seized from various locations, said the NSCDC also destroyed illegal petroleum products at three locations at Isaba General Area in Warri South.
He said that two Cotonou-bound boats and 12 vehicles were also confiscated by the officers and men of the command during the period under review.
Egede said that of the 86 suspects, three were arrested for allegedly vandalising Chevron Nigeria Ltd. pipeline, located at Mukaraba Flow Station, close to oil well head 34.
