Safe Rivers Movement Blasts Amaechi’s Critics In Ekpeyeland
A non-governmental
organisation, Safe Rivers Movement has condemned those claiming that Governor Amaechi has not done any development project in Ekpeyeland
Chairman of the group in Ahoada-East, Justice Uhor in a chat with newsmen at the weekend said only the blind would claim not to have seen the various projects executed and completed by the Amaechi-led administration.
“What we are seeing now in Ekpeyeland we have not seen before. Until Amaechi came there was nothing to show even when we had one of our sons representing us at the National Assembly”, Uhor observed.
Also speaking, the secretary of Save Rivers Movement in Ahoada-East Local Government Area, Chief Effort Aggrey described Council of Ekpeye Progressive, as a faceless group that only exists in name in the area.
“Those issues raised by the group are false. For me, none of them are indigenes of Ekpeyeland, because no person from Ekpeye would have the moral right to point accusing fingers on Governor Amaechi”.
While apologising to the governor and people of Rivers State for the misleading publication by council of Ekpeye Progressive, Chief Aggrey called on the citizenry to take a tour of Ekpeyeland to confirm the developmental projects executed by the Amaechi government.
“About 13 Communities benefitted from the model school buildings, almost all the communities there are hooked to the national grid and we also have five model health centres in the area”, the Ikata Chief further revealed.
On political appointments in the area, Chief Aggrey disclosed that Ekpeyeland has two serving political appointees serving in Amaechi’s cabinet, these include the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Sam Eyiba and Solomon Ebeku, Special Adviser to the governor on Inter-Party Affairs.
He said, before Governor Amaechi came to power Chief Nwuche has been under serious condemnation from his people since he did nothing for them”.
The Ekpeye traditional ruler however pleaded on government to site a health centre at Ikata, Ekweogba, saying that the link road between Ekweagba to Udebu town should also be constructed.
