OBALGA Boss Donates Transformers To Six Communities
The Caretaker Committee
Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Hon. Chikodi Dike, has donated six 500 KVA transformers to six communities in the area, in his determination to boost power supply.
He said that the gesture was to support the Governor Chibuike Amaechi’s government whom he said had done so much in the area of power supply.
Dike who personally inspected the transformers last week, charged the respective royal fathers to make the best use of the items.
He expressed worry that some communities like Rumuola, Rumuobiakani, Eneka, Eligbolo and Obi Wali layout were experiencing epileptic power supply, due to faulty transformers.
He pointed out that the donation of the six transformers, was its second phase and in fulfillment of part of his promises during his Meet The People Tours.
The OBALGA boss, said that the transformers, would also boost economic activities in the areas and as well, promote social life thereby, bringing government to the doorsteps of the commonman.
The Tide gathered that a similar gesture done to Rumuolumeni community in Obio/Akpor LGA, sparked a kind of fire as some groups suspected to be loyal to the minister of State for Education, Nyesom Wike were said to be unhappy with their paramout ruler, who received the item.
According to him, steady power supply to any area had a role to play to such people, adding that his administration was people-oriented.
The paramount rulers of Eneka and Eligbolo, HRHs Eze Roland Woko and Eze Nwanwa, lauded Hon Dike over his determination to enhance power supply in the areas.
At Obi Wali layout, it was heaven on earth as residents showered praises on the OBALGA boss, claiming that the area has suffered a lot of epileptic power supply.
