Army Begins Proficiency Competition In Calabar
The Nigerian Army last
Monday in Calabar began a five-day combat proficiency competition as part of its 2013 training programme.
The Commander of 13 Brigade, Nigerian Army Calabar, Brig.-Gen. Okwudili Azinta, said that the competition was organized to strengthen the existing friendship in the army.
He said the competition would foster “espirit de corps” as a critical element in building cohesion within a combat formation.
According to him, the competition is mainly a training activity organized by the 82 Division Nigerian Army, Enugu.
Also, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) the division, Maj. Gen. Adebayo Olaniyi, said the competition was organized to keep physical fitness and cultivate competitive spirit among the seven formations under the division.
Olaniyi was represented by Brig. Gen. David Lubo.
