NDDC Commissions Projects In Abia
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has commissioned 80 solar powered street lighting and road projects in Umuorie community in Abia State.
The acting Managing Director of NDDC, Dr Christy Atako, who inaugurated the projects, reiterated the commission’s commitment towards rural development in the Niger Delta region.
A statement by NDDC in Port Harcourt said that Atako expressed satisfaction that the projects would improve the well-being of residents in the community.
She urged the beneficiaries to ensure adequate protection and maintenance of the facilities to achieve the desired goal.
In the statement, the Abia State representative in NDDC, Mr Aloysius Nwagboso, was quoted as commending the commission for the projects and advised the people to shun restiveness and social vices.
“Your peaceful disposition of the host communities will continue to attract more development projects to them’’, the statement said.
The NDDC has also inaugurated a 2.9km road project with drains and culverts in Obiga Asa in Ukwa Local Government Area of Abia state.
