Foundation Canvasses Spirituality In Education Dev
A non-governmental
organisation, the Rechabite Foundation has called for the introduction of spiritual values in the development of the education sector to achieve excellence.
President of the organisation, Mr Effiong Robin gave the hint in Port Harcourt recently during the formal inauguration of the body and seminar for students, teachers and parents.
The foundation president explained that the objective of the body was to raise the spiritual consciousness of students, to have conviction in the notion that practical intelligence for academic excellence comes from God.
He said the concept when fully domesticated will not only halt examination malpratice, but will also make students to be passionate to develop the zeal to be connected with the super natural.
The body also cautioned against the penchant for paper qualification and called on students to imbibe discipline in academic pursuit to attain self-reliance.
He recalled that most great men of history such as, Pythagoras, Micheal Faraday, Plato, Socrates among others distinguished themselves because they were able to tap from the supernatural and appealed to governments at all level to key into the programme to rid the society of anti-social vices.
In his remark, one of the resource persons, Mr Otonye Tarikabor, commended the organisation for their vision and objectives.
Tarikabor, a public affairs analyst pointed out that students have to embrace spirituality to access the inner secrets of great men which is only reserved for those minds that are prepared.
