Promotion For LG Staff Begins
The Rivers State Local Government Service Commission would commence promotion exercise for Senior Staff of the 23 local government in the state today with Abua/Odua, Ahoada East and Ahoada West Local Governments.
This was disclosed in Port Harcourt by a commissioner in the commission, Barrister Paul Awoyesuku, while briefing newsmen shortly after the commission’s regular meeting.
Barrister Awoyesuku said that staff of Akuku-Toru, Andoni and Asari-Toru local governments would be interviewed on July 2, while staffers of Bonny, Degema and Eleme Local Governments would have their on turn, July 3.
He said staff of Emohua, Etche and Gokana local governments would be interviewed, July 4 while on July 5, the commission would interview staff of Ikwerre, Khana and Obio/Akpor local governments.
According to the commissioner, July 8, staff due promotion from Okrika, Omuma and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local governments would have their turn just as on July 9, those from Ogu/Bolo, Oyigbo and Tai local governments would appear before the commission for their promotion.
Barrister Awoyesuku stated that the commission has set aside July 10, for staff of Opobo/Nkoro and Port Harcourt local governments, adding that all spill over cases for local governments, if any, would be treated from July 11 to 12.
The commissioner explained that all conversion and upgrading cases would be treated along with the promotion scheduled for each local government, adding that the exercise would take place at the Port Harcourt City Council Hall between 8.00am and 4.00pm each day.
He advised all staff due for the interview to come along with originals and photocopies of their credentials, which should include letters of first appointment and confirmation of appointment, evidence of success of compulsory examination or professional certificates, and all past promotion letters.
