Chime Signs 2013 Budget
Gov. Sullivan Chime of Enugu on Wednesday signed the 2013 Appropriation bill of N83.78billion into law, as against the N82.9 billion proposed by the executive.
On the occasion, Chime thanked the House of Assembly for reviewing the budget upward by 1.05 per cent, and gave an assurance of strict implementation of the budget.
“I want to thank you people for your cooperation towards passing the budget, for the upward review even when I was on prolonged leave.
“Some of the things which brought about the review were oversight functions on the part of the executive members; I assure you that we will certainly implement this budget to the letter.
“We hope to get our full share from the Federal Government and raise some from our Internal Generated Revenue,’’ the governor said.
Earlier, the Speaker, Chief Eugene Odo had said the increase was to accommodate infrastructure upgrade at the state School of Midwifery, to the tune of N500 million.
