Andoni Budgets N4.4bn For 2013
For the development of Andoni Local Government Area, a total of N4,426,979, 950.41 has been signed into law as 2013 budget by the council chairman, Hon Orom Nte Ereforokuma, after the approval of the proposed estimates by the Legislative Assembly at Ngo, the headquarters of the area.
Hon Ereforokuma, assured that the executive would pursue the implementation of the budget vigorously to ensure speedy completion of some on going projects to fulfilled the promises made to the people in the area during his electioneering campaign in 2011.
However, the Council boss explained that out of the total estimates N2,271 490,956.41 was earmarked for recurrent expenditure, while a total of N2,155,500,000.00 would care of capital expenditure in the area.
A break down of the capital expenditure shows that N934,000,000.00 is for economic sector, social services takes N119,500,000.00, while N376,000,000 and N471,000,000.00 have been earmarked for Area development and Administration respectively to enhance development in the area.
Hon. Ereforokuma noted that in 2012 budget, his administration had pursue vigorously the implementation of some projects and programmes, but not to the letter, and attributed the problem to shortfall in revenue projection.
The council boss assured on the establishment of Palm Oil Mill, acquisition of more buses and engine boats for transportation services to boost revenue generation as well as creating employment opportunities for the people of the area.

Earlier, the leader of the Council Legislative Assembly, Hon Ataisi Charity Wellington advised that the executive should ensure the implementation of the projects and programmes as enshrined in the 2013 budget accordingly to enhance developments in various communities in Andoni.
According to her, the legislature will play a closely monitoring role to the implementation of the budget for the development of the area.
