Cleric Tasks Govts On Quality Education
Government at all levels and religious organisations have been urged to improve the standard and quality of education in the country.
The founder of Abundant Life Evengel Mission Port Harcourt, Apostle Eugene Ogu, who stated this last Tuesday morning in his office shortly after a special crossover service, noted that churches in the country have a greater role to play in improving and maintaining the standard of education.
Ogu, former chairman of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (P F N), stated that he has six hundred and thirty-eight people under his scholarship scheme and would discount 20 per cent of school fees to all members of the church and the entire public.
This, he said would be part of his contributions to encourage educational development in the country.
According to him, school funding in the country is very expensive, there is need for government and religious bodies to collaborate and invest to reduce the cost of tuition fees.
“They should as well provide the required facilities and ensure that the standards are up to international levels,”he said.
The clergyman advised government and religious organisations to encourage teachers so as to put in their best in quality education delivery.
He, however, urged our leaders to ask for God’s grace in all their endevours.
He advised the federal government to monitor various contracts awarded to contractors, explaining that it does not end at awarding jobs but seeing them being executed.
