Residents of School Road in Mile 3 Diobu, Port Harcourt can now heave a sigh of relief as a religious body, has provided a neighbourhood/community water scheme in the area.
The Tide reports that the neighbourhood water project which was officially commissioned Friday by the Regional ECK Spiritual Aid (RESA) for Eckankar Nigeria, Francis Omidiji, was facilitated by Eckankar Nigeria, Diobu North Zone.
The representative of the Area Director, Eckankar Rivers West, Levi Azuazu, said the project was in line with the need to serve humanity, saying that the free neighbourhood water scheme is a demonstration of its love and concern for the well-being of others, and also to compliment the efforts of government towards providing social amenities to the people, especially those in the Diobu axis of Port Harcourt.
He urged the residents who are the beneficiaries of the water project, to ensure that they maintain orderliness while using the facility.
Also speaking, the Local Director, Eckankar Nigeria, Diobu North Zone, Dango Orupabo, said that the project was a way of giving back to the public the unconditional love of God through service and detachment from reward or payment.
He declared that the water is free and advised the beneficiaries to protect and make good use of the amenity.
Speaking on behalf of the residents of School Road, John Abraham commended Eckankar as a religious body that has showed concern for the well-being of its neighbours.
He acknowledge the love and compassion Eckankar has demonstrated to the residents since they came to the area, and urged other religious bodies to emulate their magnanimity.
Abraham promised to ensure that the facilities are adequately protected, stating that “he who gives water gives life.”
