Bizman Hails Amaechi Over Road Projects
A Port Harcourt based business executive, and chairman, Ogamco Groups of Companies, Chief Christopher Okonkwo has lauded Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi over the numerous network of road projects being embarked upon by the Rivers State Government.
Chief Okonkwo, who made this remarks during a chat with The Tide in his office in Port Harcourt recently said the projects which were aimed at easing traffic flow in the state is a pragmatic step towards transforming the state, thereby worthy of commendation.
He said when the roads are completed, motorists would appreciate his efforts, as travelling within Port Harcourt would be traffic free, and enjoined the public to bear with the government for now.
Chief Ogamba, however, frowned at the numerous illegal taskforces operating in the state, whose activities he said, should be checked now before they cause further havoc that would portray the state in bad light.
He said the Rivers State Road Traffic Management Agency (TIMARIV) has brought some sanity on the roads, but should redouble their efforts to justify their establishment by the government.
He also lamented over the East-West road as its deplorable condition is alarming, although a federal government road, and used the forum to also appeal to the Rivers State Government to engage qualified and competent contractors in all its road project for quality service delivery.
On security and power generation, the business tycoon gave kudos to the governor, and assured that with the improvement in these sectors, more investors would be attracted to the state, and appealed for its sustainance.
He called on the people of the state to give Rt Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi the support to enable him take the state to greater heights.
