Association Tasks Old Students On Alma Mater
Old Students Association of Government Secondary School
(GSS) Ogu, in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area have been enjoined to always
remember their alma mater keeper.
The Chairman of the Association, Mr. Miebaka Iyalla, made
the call during the 3rd session of the body held at Delta Hotels, Port Harcourt
last Sunday.
Mr. Iyalla said with the privilege postion of some of the
old students, there is need for all to render services to their colleagues,
adding that by so doing, the association would attain greater heights.
According to him, they should see the progress and welfare
of their colleagues as a priority by creating an avenue for empowerment and
employment opportunity for members of their alma-mater.
The President noted that the school is blessed with people
of integrity in all starters of the society, and further appealed to them to
always project the image of the school in all their endeavours.
He expressed the enthusiasm of members in attending the rejuvenated
meeting of the old students of the school and enjoined them to keep up the
spirit and also inform others to join in ensuring that the body and indeed the
school were projected and given priority attention they deserve.
Meanwhile, a five-man committee with Mr. Nemi Ibiebele was
Chairman, Hon. Fredrick Anga, Mrs Gloria Omubo Iruene and Mr. Bapakaye Obaka as
members have been set up to review the report of an earlier committee set up to
look into the deplorable condition of the school and report back to the house
in the next meeting.
