18th NSF: MOC Okays Venues
Secretary of the main organising committee (MOC) of the 18th
National Sports Festival, ABba Yola, has
expressed satisfaction with the level of work at the Teslin Balongun Stadium,
Lagos.
He Yola made this known this week while inspecting Sports
venues and stadia for the frothcoming National Sport Festival billed to hold
later this year in Lagos.
According to him, the level of work at the stadium was quite
impressive, saying that, completion of work before the deadline was necessary.
He however urged the Local Organising Committee (L.O.C) to
speed up the completion of work at the stadium before the 18th National Sports
Fiesta in November.
Meanwhile, zonal elimination of team events in the 18th NSF
games, commenced Monday across the various zones in the country.
Tidesports gathered that preparations are now in top gear as
athletes and coaches in the 36 states of the federation are currently in camp
for the task ahead.
It would be recalled that the 17th National Sports Festival
tagged ‘Garden City Games 2011’ was hosted and won by Rivers State as Team
Rivers are the defending champions.
