Ministry Opens Bid For NUJ Secretariat Complex
The bid for the construction of a new Secretariat building for the Rivers State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists opened Friday at the boardroom, Ministry of Information and Communications.
Two companies, Elohim Consult Limited and Fuason Consult Limited made presentations.
Chairman of the tenders board, Mrs Jotade Adamu said four companies responded to request of interest as published in the media, noting that after the prequalification exercise carried out by the board three companies were cleared for the financial bid.
But Fuason Consult Limited lost in the bid as it failed to present its financial bid documents before the expiration of official deadline given to them while Elohim Consult Limited presented a bid of N369,719.48.
The managing Director of the company, Arc. Ijiente Peter, while handing over the documents to the Secretary of the board Mr. Rufus Direh, assured of quality job execution if awarded the contract.
The Chairman of the Tenders Board, Mrs Adamu, who is also the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, said the submissions made by the company would be forwarded to the technical committee of the board for critical assessment of its content before final decision of the board.
The project a three story building, has a of N450 million in the 2012 appropriation of the state and is in fulfillment of Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi’s promise to construct a befitting Secretariat building for the State Council of the NUJ.
