Freight Forwarders Induct 4,000 Registered Members
The Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) has inducted more than 4,000 registered freight forwarders in an effort to meet international best practices .
The CRFFN’s Head of Corporate Affairs, Mrs Chinyere Uromta said this in an interview with newsmen on Saturday, in Abuja.
“The council, in its bid to meet up with the Transformation Agenda of the Federal Government, had inducted more than 4,000 registered freight forwarders which will also translate into meeting international best practices.
“The names of the inductees would be published in the Federal Government gazette, after which the council would begin enforcement in terms of arresting unregistered freight forwarders,’’ she said.
According to her, the induction has ushered in a new era in the practice of freight forwarding in Nigeria, and introduced a new regime of enforcement and compliance with the industry’s best practices and standards.
Uromta said that the council, in collaboration with the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology, had established a module for certificate courses in freight forwarding.
She said that the council would hold its maiden edition of the national freight forwarders conference in May.
