Ekpo Scores On Debut For Molded
Emmanuel Ekpo opened his Molde FK goal account in Thursday’s 3-1 win over Spanish side, Estepona after coming off the subs bench in his first match.
The Nigeria international joined the Norwegian champions on a three-year deal from Columbus Crew early in the week, but only arrived the team’s Marbella pre-season camp in Spain 24 hours before the tie.
He joined the fray in the 46th minute and scored his goal on the 69th minute mark, after a wonderful solo run from the midfield to increse the Norwagian champions lead to 3-0.
The enounter saw a champagne performance from Molde FK who controlled the better part of the match but failed to convert series of scoring chances. However, on the 33rd minute, Vini Dantas put Molde ahead before Andrew Hollings added the second six minutes later.
Despite Ekpo’s goal and Molde’s third, Estepona fought back and were rewarded on the 84 minute to reduce the scores to 3-1 at full time.
In continauion of their pre-season tour, Ekpo and compatriot Chima Daniel Chukwu, also filed out with Molde against Russian side, Alania at the same venue.
