Task Force Arrests Lagos Motor Parks Touts
The Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Enforcement Unit (Task Force) says it has arrested 47 miscreants at some motor parks in the state.
The Chairman of the task force Mr Bayo Sulaiman, disclosed this in a statement made available to our correspondent on Saturday in Lagos, said that the unit had begun a new onslaught on miscreants and motor park touts, adding that those arrested were between 14 years and 43 years.
“The offensive was borne out of the need to protect law abiding citizens of the state who were being harassed, terrorised and dispossessed of their possessions by unscrupulous elements on a daily basis.”
He said that they were arrested in Ikorodu, Ilupeju and Oshodi axis of the state after a tip-off from members of the public.
The chairman urged parents and guardians to take proper care of their children and wards as they are the future leaders.
“It is rather unfortunate to see under age children among touts and miscreants.“
He advised motor park unions to stay in their parks to collect dues rather than going from one bus stop to another.
Sulaiman said that the suspects would soon be charged to court while the under age among them would be taken to remand homes.
