Monarch Sues For Peace
The Paramount ruler of Owerewere Community in Abua/Odual Local Government Area of Rivers State, Chief T.K.D Ezikwas has approved the appointment of new leadership of three bodies in the community.
In a statement at Abua, Chief Ezikwas who was Production Manager of the Rivers State Newspaper Corporation until his retirement, advised the new leadership of Owerewere community Development Committee (CDC), the Caretaker Committee of Owerewere youth council and the community trust Owerewere chapter of Abua/Odual cluster of SPDC to maintain peace in their efforts to bring development to the community.
Chief Ezikwas said Owerewere community was in dire need of development and called for collective efforts of all and sundry to re-position the community for good.
He also called on the Shell Petroleum Development Company to re-double its corporate social responsibility to Owerewere community to enable the people benefit from its social amenities.
The move, according to him, would give the people a sense of belonging in the affairs of the company.
In the appointment, Mr Anthony Nwakaku was named the CDC Chairman while Mr Wazis Ozurumba would serve as CDC Secretary. He will also double as secretary of the Council of Chiefs.
