Abe Targets JAMB Forms For 189 Students
As part of its educational support initiative, the office of Senator Magnus Abe representing Rivers South-East Senatorial District in the National Assembly has commenced the process of purchasing the 2012/2013 JAMB forms for indigent students across the area.
189 students drawn from the seven Local Government Areas of the district comprising Andoni, Eleme, Khana, Gokana, Opobo/Nkoro, Oyigbo and Tai are to benefit from the scheme.
A breakdown indicates that 27 students from each of the Local Government Areas with sound post primary school examination result have been selected following a well articulated efforts by experts recruited to drive the process of identifying potential beneficiaries of the initiative.
The move is geared towards assisting less privileged students across the district in line with Governor Amaechi’s plan of empowering Rivers people through education to guarantee a secured future for the State.
Already, names of shortlisted candidates from Andoni, Khana, Gokana and Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Areas are now on display at the Khana Council Secretariat, Bori while beneficiaries from Eleme, Oyigbo and Tai are to check at the Tai Council Secretariat, Saakpenwa.
