Songhai Farm Is Business Oriented – RSSDA Boss
The Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Rivers State Sustainable Development Authority (RSSDA), Mr. Noble Pepple has said that the Rivers Songhai Farm Project was strickly business oriented.
Mr Pepple who stated this in an interview with journalists shortly after a facility tour of the farm as part of activities to mark the Press Week of the Rivers Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) last Wednesday thanked the media for embarking on the facilities tour.
He explained that the retreat organised by the Rivers State government for its top functionaries was an indication that the Songhai farm was out and ready for business.
“The governor, Rt Hon. Rotimi Amaechi brought the entire government of the state, about 120 people to Songhai for the state strategic retreat.
“This means that Songhai is open for business and they were here day and night for a week”.
Some of the facilities visited included the communications centre, livestock, biogas unit, freedmill, cassava processing mill, fish ponds, piggery and grass cutter section among others.
Production manager of the farm, Mr. Godfrey Godfrey, conducted journalists round the establishment.
