Commissioner Wants Early Completion Of Okporo Road
The Rivers State Commissioner for Works, Hon Victor Giadom, has called on Solberg Nigeria Limited to increase the present pace of work on the Okporo Road project to ensure early completion. The Commissioner who made the call during a routine road inspection tour on some road projects in the state directed the contractor and supervisory engineers of his ministry to work day and night to ensure quick completion.
Hon Giadom said the call has became necessary so as to ease the present difficulties experienced by residents of that axis of Port Harcourt.
The Commissioner who assured that the road project would be completed by the end of the dry season appealed to the people to exercise more patience as government was doing everything necessary to ease their problems occasioned by the poor road situation in the area.
Also inspected was the Nanka stretch of road where the commissioner noted that the almost Ikm road had been expanded to nine meters width, with a constructed asphalt drain to channel storm water to the creek as to address the flooding problem experienced at the area.
The commissioner however called on property owners along the road to comply with government directives so as to achieve optimal result.
He explained that the aim of the directive was not to witch hunt any person but for the common good of the larger society.
