RSNC Director Bags Character Award
The League of Character Clubs Nigeria, has honoured a director of the Rivers State Newspaper Corporation, Mrs Juliet Njiowhor with a merit award for exemplary disposition of good character in the society.
Presenting the award Friday in Port Harcourt, President-General of the club, Chief Christian Kokoriko said Mrs Njiowhor had through some of her philanthropic activities impacted positively on persons and families noting that such dispositions were highly needed in the country as government alone could not be expected to alleviate the economic challenges facing Nigerian masses.
Chief Kokoriko particularly remarked that during the past Christmas celebration the awardee dolled out bags of rice and cash to staff of the corporation through her personal earnings.
“She did that not because she had enough but because she has feelings for others. In building and moulding good characters, the club takes interest in such humble exhibitions and we shall continue to encourage and recognise people who remember others even when they plan for their immediate families,” he said.
Chief Kokoriko described the awardee as one who has penchant for extending helping hands to others and urged her not to relent stressing that what the club had done was to encourage her while praying to God to bless her abundantly for her show of love to mankind.
In her response, Mrs Njiowhor who is the director for publications in the corporation commended the club for the honour, and remarked that she derives joy in extending helping hands to others through her humble means, she noted that “I believe that God has sent me to do good to others”
