Oliseh Wants S’Eagles Job
Former Nigeria captain Sunday Oliseh offered himself up to take up the Super Eagles coaching position.
Current coach Samson Siasia is fighting to keep his job after Nigeria failed to qualify for the African Nations Cup next year, and Oliseh, who played with Siasia, appears keen to take over from his former teammate.
“After thousands of emails requests, I have decided to make myself Available to Coach the Super Eagles of Nigeria back to greater heights,” Oliseh posted from his twitter account at the weekend.
In the second of two tweets on the subject, Oliseh claimed to be the most qualified coach.
“Being the most qualified coach my country can offer is useless if I do not put it into my country’s service especially now as it has become …,” he said in the incomplete tweet.
Oliseh won the African Nations Cup in 1994 and Olympic gold in 1996 during his time as a Nigeria international and played at three World Cups.
He holds a UEFA Pro License, and was in the running for the job a year ago along with Stephen Keshi, but Siasia was eventually appointed.
