Expedite Action On Projects – Monarch
The Rivers State Government has been urged to expedite action on the projects in Eleme Local Government Area of the state, especially the Nchia Market road.
The paramount ruler of Ekongor Community, in Alesa, Chief Peter Olukanwi made the appeal recently at his palace while briefing newsmen.
Olukanwi said the road and other projects would alleviate the suffering of the people on completion.
The monarch, noted that infrastructural development is the backbone of any town/ community, saying that any area lacking development in that area will remain underdeveloped.
He also urged the state government to ensure a steady power supply noting that the Port Harcourt Refinery and Notore Nigeria Limited have enough power supply system that can provide a steady power for all the people of Eleme Community.
“They can tap power from Port Harcourt Refinery and Notore, they have surplus,” he said.
The community leader, maintained that the state government under Governor Amaechi’s leadership was doing well, adding that there is the need to ensure the completion of all projects in Eleme, as well as the ultra modern water scheme.
He also pointed out that job creation would go a long way in controlling crime rate in the state, and appealed to the governor to lift ban on employment.
Meanwhile, he has promised the support of his leadership to the present administration, and urged the need for transparency and equity in the state.
