‘Computer Training, Indispensable’
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Envrionment, Mr Rufus Godwins, has described computer as indispensable to the present age.
Mr Godwins made the observation while officiating at the graduation ceremony of the 5th batch of twenty staff trained by the ministry.
The permanent secretary commended the staff for exhibiting a high standard of discipline and restraint during the training and appealed to them to pursue positive ideals that would elevate them continually.
He added that graduants must strive to put in what was learnt into practice, especially by acquiring lap tops, adding that as beginners, they were supposed to study further so as to master the various programmes such as down loading.
In his speech, the instructor, Mr Solomon Olime commended the Ministry of Environment for investing on human capacity building, saying that with the training, the ministry would improve its productivity level.
He extolled the courage of the students and called for the sustenance of the project.
In his response, the class leader, Mr Tomii Kpooh, thanked the ministry for giving them the opportunity to be trained and appealed that the programme be extended to other staff.
It would be recalled that 100 staff have so far been trained by the ministry.
