Kaduna To Sanction Officials Over Illegal Sale Of Land
The Kaduna State Government has threatened to sanction any officials involved in the illegal carving out of plots from its estates and official quarters for sale to the public. Some of the government officials were discovered to have been collaborating with land speculators to sell any available space identified in government residential quarters and estates.
A circular issued in Kaduna on Wednesday and signed by the Acting General Manager of Physical Planning, Alhaji Balarabe Hassan, said such spaces were officially committed to the government for its activities.
It noted that following the illegal sale of such land, the state government had lost significant plots and spaces, thereby defacing the estates as well as making them prone to disasters.
According to the circular, the Kaduna State Development and Property Company has directed those involved to stop the illegal act as well as refund all the monies collected.
