Nigerian, Singaporean Planners To Exchange Ideas On City Management
The National President of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, Mr. Kabir Yari, will tomorrow, lead 37 members of the body on a collaborative study tour of Singapore, where they are expected to be exposed to current trends in city management, development control, energy planning and greening of cities.
According to a statement made available on Tuesday by the National Public Relations Secretary, NITP, Mr. Adebola Owokade, the tour, which is billed to last for five days, is being organised by the NITP in collaboration with the Singapore Institute of Planning.
The Nigerian visitors will learn about national physical planning in Singapore, general city planning and development, public housing and transportation, infrastructure maintenance and greening of cities, and energy, water planning and efficiency in projects.
The delegation will also visit relevant places of interest and hold interactive sessions with public officials planning consultants.
Apart from enhancing the capacity of Nigerian town planners in the stated areas, the statement added that the visit would also expose them to current global practices.
