The people of Aluu in Ikwerre Local Government of Rivers State, have commended the state government for awarding the contract for the construction of UNIPORT/Aluu road.
The chairman of Ogbakor Aluu, Hon Emma Wawhor, who spoke with journalists last Wednesday at Aluu said the move would end the plight of motorists and commuters along the route.
Wawhor, said though successive governments have come and gone, the determination of Amaechi administration to give the road a facelift is a pointer to government’s desire to give meaning to rural development.
According to him, the Govenor’s action to spread development to parts of the state was commendable, and thanked him for all the infrastructural development spread across the state.
The community leader narrated how the dilapidated Uniport /Aluu road has been a source of nightmare to commutters, and expressed the hope that when the road project would be completed, it would restore hope and give the people a sense of belonging.
He said Aluu people would reciprocate the gesture by voting enmass for Governor Amaechi.
Earlier, he had called on Rivers people to vote for PDP and all its candidates in the April general polls.
