NAPIMS To Enhance Facilities At Total’s Onne Base
The mutual working relationship between the National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS), which is the investment arm of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), recently got a boost following NAPIMS’ pledge to enhance Total’s operating facilities at the Onne Base, near Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
NAPIMS’ Group General Manager, Mr M. A. Fidi made the promise during a visit to Total’s logistics base at Onne in company of NAPIMS’ General Manager, Engr. H. S. Tahir.
The visit, which also took them to the West Atlantic Shipyard [WAS], was intended for viewing the facilities at the base, in order to determine how to resole the challenges associated with the management and maintenance of the facilities.
Mr Fidi sad the visit had enabled the top hierarchy of NAPIMS have a better appreciation of the magnitude and challenges of the operations at the Onne Base, promising to do all within his powers to foster a beneficial relationship between the two partners.
On hand to welcome the visitors were the Executive Director, Joint Venture Offshore, Mr Patrick Ngene; the Executive General Manager, Technical Services, Mr. Adebisi Otukoya and other management staff of the company.
In his welcome remarks, Mr Ngene noted that Total had always had a good relationship with NAPIMS and expressed pleasure that Total is the first oil and gas exploration company to be visited at the Onne Base by the top hierarchy of NAPIMS.
