RSG Explains Stand On Voters Cards
The Rivers State Government has said that the possession of voter’s card will now be a condition by civil servants to access its free health and educational programmes as well as other benefits in the state.
In a statement in Port Harcourt, the State Head of Service, Mrs Esther Anucha, directed civil servants in the state to submit photocopies of their voters cards to Directors of Finance and Administration in their various Ministries, Departments and Agencies not later than the first of next month.
She explained that Wednesday Public holday declared by the state government was to enable state civil servants to take advantage of the work free day to register in their neighbourhood to enable them to be part of the electoral process.
