Amaechi Approves Ogbogoro- Rumuolumeni Road Project
As a direct response to requests from residents in and along the Ogbogoro axis of the state, Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has approved the award of contract for the reconstruction of the Ogbogoro Road.
The road, which is about 2.5km long, is to commence from the NTA-Choba Road axis through Ogbogoro Community to the Rumuolumeni end of the road
The Ag. Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Blessing Wikina who dropped the hint in a chat with Government House correspondents in Port Harcourt, yesterday said the award of the contract followed Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi’s intervention, emphasising that it was the governor’s desire that the people residing in the area experience a new lease of life before the next rainy season sets in.
In compliance with the policy direction of the present administration, the road will comprise drains, walkways on the two sides of the road and a 10cm asphalt overlay.
The Ag. Chief Press Secretary commended the people of Ogbogoro and other adjoining communities for their patience, assuring that the Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi- led administration would ensure that difficulties arising from decaying infrastructure were addressed.
He also assured that the contractor would be mobilised to site in good time to enable it deliver a quality job ahead of the rains.
It would be recalled that on various live Radio and Television programmes, callers had inundated the state governor with requests for the reconstruction of the Ogbogoro Road which serves as a major artery for residents in the area.
