Man Dies In Auto-Crash
A fatal auto- accident has claimed the life of one Obiora Ononeze, along old Aba-Port Harcourt Road in Rumuomasi.
According to an eye witness, late Ononeze who drove in a Honda car on Sunday evening with Reg. No. CL615 ABC suddenly ran against a stationery Iveco fuel truck with Reg. No. XL983 KRB along the road in front of Oando filling station.
Rivers State Police spokesman, Dr. Rita Inoma-Abbey who confirmed the incident told newsmen that the second victim in the car with Mr. Obiora was injured and quickly taken to Braithwait Memorial Specialist Hospital for treatment.
She said the driver of the truck whose name was given as Mr. Balogun Gbenga, having noticed the fatal accident caused by his fuel truck quickly drove it away from the scene.
But Inoma-Abbey said that the driver of the vehicle had since been arrested while investigation by the Police continues.
