2011: Group Wants Nigerians To Resist Corrupt Leaders
A Niger Delta-based political pressure group, Vision 2011 has called on Nigerians to resist any candidate being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged corruption charges in the 2011 elections.
The state chairman of the group, Comrade Alamina Abibo who said this in an interview with newsmen at the end of a meeting in Port Harcourt, said that Nigeians should ensure that those who have charges to answer at the EFCC do not get into positions of authority next year.
Comrade Abibo emphasised that the Vision 2011 which is made up of young and vibrant Nigerians was out to checkmate the imposition of leaders on the people.
According to him, the group which is currently not rooting for anybody either at the state or national level, will campaign for only those with proven record of integrity as well as with interest of Rivers State at heart.
The group leader noted that to achieve this lofty ideal, state coordinators and their local governments counterparts had been inaugurated, while at the State level there were; representatives of Hausa, Ibo and Yoruba communities as well as other ethnic nationalities.
He commended the Presidency for the reforms in the electoral sector which will ensure one man, one vote next year.
