Semenitari Thanks Rivers People, Defends President’s Visit
Barely a week after the visit of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to the state,. The Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mrs Ibim Semenitari says the state is already reaping from the visit.
Mrs Semenitari stated this , yesterday, while speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt.
The commissioner said the benefit include refund of N45billion spent on road construction which the federal government promise the state government.
“Now that the president has come, we know that the N45billion we spent on road construction will come back. N45billion is not small money, you can imagine the extent to which that amount of money will impact the life of the people in the state, she said.
The commissioner thanked the people of the state for the level of understanding displayed over inconveniences they suffered during the president’s visit to the state.
“I regret that there might be some inconveniences at some points and areas in the state; I noted some road blocks in some areas, including inconvenience already on the road as a result of road construction , so I regret that the commissioner said.
Mrs Semenitari called on the people of the state to support Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi commitment to give Rivers State a new face of development.
