Petroleum Industry Bill: Royal Father Calls For Urgent Implementation
As the National Assembly fine-tunes strategies towards the passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) a traditioinal ruler in Bayelsa State, HRH King Charles Amiebi has said that the implementation of the bill will ameliorate the sufferings of oil bearing communities.
The Royal father who is also the Clan Head of Okoroma Kingdom and Obanobhon-in-Council said this while addressing chiefs and elders at his palace in Eminama town.
King Amiebi also called on t he Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to commence work on the road linking Ogbia to Okoroma District in the Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
He said that the road which was started by the former administration of Chief Malford Okilo has remained abandoned by subsequent administrations.
According to him, opening up the Okoroma District by road will bring development to the people, pointing out that the area has contributed so much towards the economy of the nation.
The Monarch also commended the Acting President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan for the manner in which he has handled the affairs of the nation so far.
