TUC President Lauds Amaechi
The President General of the Trade Union Congress, Mr. Peter Isele, says the Rivers State Government has since inauguration demonstrated a strong sense of commitment and accountability to the people in its projects execution scheme.
Speaking on View Point, a Silverbird Rhythm 93.7 Current Affairs programme over the weekend, Mr. Isele noted that any visitor driving around Port Harcourt would appricate the magnitude of the on-going road construction projects.
Mr. lsele said that if the volume of development activities put together by the Rivers State Government was going on simultaneously in other parts of the country, Nigeria would definitely be better for it and enjoined the Amaechi government to sustain the tempo which he stated would give the administration a positive place of reckoning in the history of the state.
He called on other state governments across the country that may not have done much for their people to emulate the zeal and impetus being competently shown by the Rivers State government for the good of the nation.
Mr Isele, who had insisted that if the proposed deregulation of the downstream petroleum sector by the Federal Government must be given a chance, the government must explain to Nigerians in concrete terms what it intends to achieve with the resources that would accrue to her as a result of the deregulation, noting that Nigerians were no longer in the mood to be fooled.
